Interior Panels Going Back In

We decided to ignore our roof hinge woes and do something slightly easier and more rewarding today. All the interior panels have been re-covered so we started putting them back. With each panel that was screwed back in, the van started to begin its transformation from empty metal van to cosy little home for us.

The panels simply screwed off, we then stripped the old lining material (which was falling to bits) and recovered in blue van lining material. The panels are just screwed back into place.

We had to drill out the curtain rail that was riveted around the van. The panels are fitted, and then the rail will be screwed back in over the top. We can then trim off any excess.

I fitted the panels around the passenger seat and battery all by myself! Notice the heater along with winter coat and gloves - it was pretty cold today.

It's really starting to come together. There is still loads left to do but when I'm inside now I can really imagine  Nick and I pottering around, making tea, cooking and relaxing.
