Goodbye van, hello Wales

This past weekend we said goodbye to our van. It was a bit touch and go whether we would actually be able to sell it - after 5 days on eBay  and 87 watchers, we only had one bidder interested enough to come and view. Thankfully they loved it and put in a bid, and they drove off with it the next day.

We are extremely sad to see it go - it has been our hobby, as well as our home, for all these months. But all good things must end and we are moving onwards and upwards as always!

Yesterday we continued our road trip where it left off and finally made it to Wales.

First stop was to see our friends Dan and Vic at their house, whom we let down when we didn't make it two weeks ago in the van. Although it was a school night we had a great night catching up and hopefully we will be able to see them again soon for a proper camping trip.

From Dan and Vic's near Abertillery we headed west to Swansea where we stopped by the bank and picked up some supplies. Swansea wasn't particularly inspiring so we carried on into the Gower peninsula where we have chosen a site in Llangennith.

It's a laid back campsite full of surfers and campervans! Instead of getting too jealous of everyone elses van, we set up our new tent and we decided we love it!

This is our view over to the sand dunes. The tent is really spacious, so much more so than the van, and with a few rugs it feels really cosy.

The bell tent is really easy to put up too.

When we asked for recommendations for places visit in Wales, the Gower was mentioned by nearly everyone. So we are going to be here for a couple of days for an explore.
